Travel from Rome to Tivoli in a Mercedes vehicle and explore Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este on a six-hour countryside day trip.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a six-hour journey through the Lazio countryside to Tivoli, where two extraordinary villas reveal different chapters of Italian history. Your English-speaking driver picks you up from your Rome hotel or accommodation at 9:00 AM and takes you there in a Mercedes vehicle.

Explore Hadrian’s Villa, an expansive retreat dating to Ancient Rome, then visit Villa d’Este, a Renaissance landmark known for its gardens. Both are UNESCO-listed heritage sites. Admission and audioguides are not included, so you can choose whether to purchase them on site. Villa d’Este is closed on Mondays, and transfer times may vary with traffic.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 35% in Rome means it ranks in the top 35% of tours in Rome by this score.
