Explore Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este on a private Rome day trip, with a local Tivoli guide, villa tickets, and luxury minivan transport.

About this tour

Leave Rome behind for a private day exploring Tivoli’s celebrated villas and gardens. Your Rome Tivoli Villas tour begins with hotel pickup in a private luxury minivan, taking you to Hadrian’s Villa, the vast imperial residence built for Emperor Hadrian. Walk through the remains of this remarkable complex and imagine the scale of life at the height of the Roman Empire.

Continue to the upper town of Tivoli and Villa d’Este, once the residence of Cardinal d’Este. A local guide brings the site’s history to life as you take in its ornate Baroque gardens, celebrated for more than 1,000 fountains. Tickets to both villas are included, so you can focus on the architecture, water features, and stories behind these historic estates.

With private transportation and pickup and drop-off at your Rome city-center accommodation, the Rome Tivoli Villas tour makes it easy to experience two distinctive landmarks in one outing. Book your visit and discover Tivoli’s imperial and Renaissance heritage.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
