About this tour

Discover the stories behind Rome’s Trevi Fountain, where a 2,000-year-old aqueduct still supplies water to one of the city’s most celebrated landmarks. On this small-group Rome Trevi Fountain tour, an expert guide brings the fountain’s history and coin-tossing tradition to life before leading you 9 meters underground to see the remains of the ancient aqueduct.

With a maximum of 12 participants, you can follow the stories clearly through provided headsets and enjoy on-site assistance along the way. The fountain is viewed from the public piazza level; access to the restricted basin area is not included and costs €2. Meet your guide at Piazza di Trevi 82, on the right side of the fountain, and arrive 5 minutes before departure. Entrance to the underground excavations and a professional live guide are included.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.09 from 92 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.7.
