Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with a private expert guide, skip-the-line entry, and a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica.

About this tour

Explore Rome’s Vatican treasures with a private guide who brings the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica to life. Skip-the-line entry helps you make the most of a three-hour visit through one of the world’s great collections of art and history.

Your guide leads you through the Vatican Museums and into the Sistine Chapel, where you can take in its renowned artwork. The itinerary also includes St. Peter’s Basilica, though access may be affected by the Wednesday Papal Audience or an unexpected closure. If the basilica is unavailable, the tour spends the full three hours in the museums and Sistine Chapel. A dedicated guide offers a more intimate way to navigate the vast complex and focus on its standout sights.

Meet at Viale Vaticano 100, upstairs by Caffè Vaticano, and arrive a few minutes early. Bring identification that matches the name on your nominative ticket, and dress with knees and shoulders covered. Choose this Rome Vatican Museums and Basilica tour for a guided, skip-the-line introduction to the Vatican’s most celebrated spaces.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
