Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with a local guide, skip-the-line access, and headsets for clear commentary.

About this tour

Discover the Vatican’s celebrated art and architecture on a guided visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Over 150 minutes, follow your local guide through highlights of the vast museum collection, then take in Michelangelo’s masterpieces in the Sistine Chapel. Headsets help you hear the commentary clearly, and guaranteed skip-the-line access means less time waiting outside and more time among the works. The passage between the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica may be closed on Wednesdays or during unexpected closures; in that case, the visit stays within the museums. Basilica access is not guaranteed. Arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before departure, and dress with knees and shoulders covered to meet the required dress code. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.98 from 94 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.5.
