Explore the Vatican Museums, Raphael Rooms, and Sistine Chapel with a private guide on this 2-hour Rome tour.

About this tour

Step into the Vatican’s artistic legacy on a private Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour. With a professional guide and headsets, explore the museums, visit the Raphael Rooms, and admire the Sistine Chapel’s remarkable artwork. A skip-the-line ticket lets you bypass the general entrance line, though you’ll still need to pass through security; museum entry is estimated about 45 minutes after departure.

Along the way, see works by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo da Vinci while your guide brings the collection into focus. The 120-minute experience is reserved for your party, with an English-speaking guide. Wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders, and arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before departure. The Basilica can close without notice, so entry there cannot be guaranteed. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.96 from 154 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.0.
