About this tour

Step into centuries of art and history on a Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour, led by an expert guide. With roughly 70,000 works in the Vatican Museums, a guided visit helps you focus on remarkable highlights without trying to see everything in one day.

Your 180-minute tour includes fast-track entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Explore the collections with your guide, then take in the Sistine Chapel’s celebrated art. Entry to St. Peter’s Basilica is included when the passage is open. Groups of more than five receive headsets, and a device recharging station is available.

Meet at Via Mocenigo, about 200 meters northwest of the Vatican Museums entrance. Allow time for airport-style security, where waits can reach 30 minutes during high season. Shoulders and knees must be covered. St. Peter’s Basilica closes on Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and on December 24 and 31; the tour visits other museum areas during those times. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.10 from 143 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.2.
