About this tour

Discover the Vatican’s artistic treasures on a 3-hour Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour led by a licensed guide. Walk through galleries shaped by Renaissance and Baroque popes, encountering works by Raphael, Perugino, Botticelli, and Pinturicchio along the way. In the Sistine Chapel, look up to Michelangelo’s celebrated Last Judgment and take in the vivid detail of his masterpiece.

Choose an option with St. Peter’s Basilica for a closer look inside, where the guide can share stories about the burial of Saint Peter, Bernini’s Baldacchino, and Michelangelo’s Pietà. The Basilica visit is optional, and the explanation may instead take place from outside. Headsets help you follow the guide, while mobile tickets make entry convenient. Hotel pickup and transport are available only with the relevant option.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
