About this tour

See the Vatican’s celebrated art and architecture with a private guide who helps bring its vast collections into focus. This 3-hour Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour includes guaranteed skip-the-line entry, so you can spend your time exploring rather than waiting.

Follow your guide through the Vatican Museums, then enter the Sistine Chapel to admire its renowned artwork. The itinerary also includes St. Peter’s Basilica when it is open. On Wednesday mornings, during the weekly Papal Audience, or in rare cases when the basilica closes without notice, the visit instead spends the full three hours in the museums and Sistine Chapel. Your private format offers a more intimate way to experience these landmark sights, with an expert guide providing context along the way.

Meet at Viale Vaticano 100, upstairs at the corner by Caffè Vaticano, and arrive a few minutes early. Bring valid photo ID matching the full name on your nominative ticket, and dress with knees and shoulders covered. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 40% in Rome means it ranks in the top 40% of tours in Rome by this score.
