Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel on a private, three-hour Rome tour with an expert guide and skip-the-line entry.

About this tour

Explore Rome’s Vatican treasures with a private, three-hour guided tour that pairs skip-the-line entry with the insight of a dedicated expert guide. Move through the Vatican Museums’ remarkable rooms and collections, then visit the Sistine Chapel to see its celebrated frescoes. St. Peter’s Basilica is also included when access is available.

Your guide leads the way through this vast complex, bringing its art and history into focus while helping you make the most of your visit. Meet at Viale Vaticano 100, by Caffè Vaticano, and arrive a few minutes early with a valid passport or ID that matches the name supplied at booking. Dress modestly, with knees and shoulders covered. Basilica access can be affected by the Wednesday Papal Audience or an unexpected closure; if it is unavailable, the tour continues in the museums and Sistine Chapel.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
