About this tour

Step into the Vatican’s remarkable world of art and history on a Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour led by a dedicated expert guide. With skip-the-line entry, spend three hours exploring the vast museum complex and its celebrated collections, then admire the Sistine Chapel’s renowned frescoes. The itinerary also includes St. Peter’s Basilica when it is open and accessible.

A private guide brings context to the rooms, artworks, and landmarks as you move through the Vatican. Meet at Viale Vaticano 100, upstairs at the corner by Caffè Vaticano, and arrive a few minutes early. Each traveler must bring a valid passport or ID matching the name provided at booking. Dress modestly, with knees and shoulders covered, and leave large bags behind.

St. Peter’s Basilica can be unavailable during the Wednesday morning Papal Audience or may close without notice; in that case, the full three hours are spent in the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Book your Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour for a guided visit through some of the city’s most extraordinary sights.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
