About this tour

Skip the long lines and spend four hours exploring the Vatican’s celebrated collections with a local guide. This Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour goes beyond the best-known rooms, bringing you through galleries filled with tapestries, maps, and classical sculpture.

Admire the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Maps, and the Gallery of Candelabra, including the famous Laocoön and His Sons. Continue to Raphael’s Rooms and discover artworks and details that many visitors might otherwise miss, then visit the Sistine Chapel. Pickup from your accommodation is included, and guaranteed skip-the-line access helps you make the most of your time. St. Peter’s Basilica is not included, and access is unavailable under current Jubilee restrictions. Occasional Vatican closures for papal events may require an alternative museum-focused route.

Dress with covered shoulders and knees, and leave large bags, backpacks, and long umbrellas behind. Book this Rome Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour for a guided look at the art and stories beyond the usual highlights.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
