Enter the Vatican Museums early, explore the Sistine Chapel with fewer crowds, and follow an English-speaking guide in a small group.

About this tour

Step into the Vatican Museums early and experience their remarkable collections with fewer people around. This 180-minute Rome Vatican Museums Early Entry Tour pairs priority timing with an English-speaking guide, helping you make the most of a vast, labyrinthine complex.

Explore the museums and visit the Sistine Chapel, with time to take in its celebrated art in a quieter atmosphere. A small group of no more than 20 guests keeps the experience personal, while headsets make it easier to follow your guide. The early start offers a welcome advantage in one of the world’s busiest museum complexes.

Meet near St. Peter’s Square and arrive 15 minutes before departure. The Vatican Museums may close sections, including the Sistine Chapel, without notice; if that happens, the tour continues through other significant museum areas, and refunds are not guaranteed. Book the Rome Vatican Museums Early Entry Tour for a guided visit shaped around an earlier, more intimate look at the collections.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.05 from 21 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.1.
