Explore Rome’s Vatican Museums with skip-the-line access, an art historian guide, and highlights including the Raphael Rooms and Sistine Chapel.

About this tour

Explore Rome’s Vatican Museums after hours on a guided visit that brings centuries of art and history into focus. With skip-the-line access and a local professional art historian as your guide, you can spend less time waiting and more time taking in the collections.

The 150-minute tour visits major museum highlights, including the Raphael Rooms, the Galleries of Tapestries and Maps, and ancient Greek and Roman statues in the Pio-Clementino Museums. The Sistine Chapel is part of the advertised experience, though access can change: Vatican areas may close at short notice, and the chapel or St. Peter’s Basilica may be unavailable. If that happens, your guide will offer an alternative focused on the Vatican Museums.

This Rome Vatican Museums night tour offers a guided way to discover the collections and their standout works. Dress modestly for entry: knees and shoulders must be covered. Book your visit and experience the Vatican’s artistic treasures with an expert guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
