Explore the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica with an expert guide on this three-hour Rome tour.

About this tour

Discover Rome’s Vatican treasures on a guided visit that brings centuries of art, faith, and history into focus. Over three hours, an expert English-speaking guide leads you through the Vatican Museums, from the Pine and Belvedere Courtyards to the Gallery of Maps, Candelabra Gallery, and Tapestry Gallery. Skip-the-line tickets help you spend less time waiting and more time taking in the collections.

The route culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire Michelangelo’s celebrated ceiling. The tour also includes skip-the-line access to St. Peter’s Basilica, though the Vatican may close it at short notice for special events. If that happens, your guide will extend the visit in the Vatican Museums. Groups are limited to 20 guests, and headsets help you follow the commentary along the way.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 40% in Rome means it ranks in the top 40% of tours in Rome by this score.
