Explore Rome’s Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with a private guide, then finish your visit at St. Peter’s Basilica.

About this tour

Explore the Vatican’s celebrated art collections on a private tour of Rome’s Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. With a private guide and skip-the-line tickets for the museums and chapel, you can focus on the art and stories around you.

Admire priceless works from the Papal collections, then take in Michelangelo’s remarkable frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. The visit finishes at the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica, though access can be affected by religious events. On Wednesdays, the basilica is unavailable until 1 p.m. because of Papal Audiences; if a last-minute closure prevents entry, the tour may be extended in the Vatican Museums instead.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.40 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
