About this tour

Explore Rome’s Vatican treasures on a private, customizable tour led by a guide licensed by Vatican City. With your own group, you can adjust the route through the museums to match your interests, without being combined with other travelers.

Visit the Pio-Clementino Museum, stroll through the galleries and Pigna Courtyard, then continue to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Your guide brings context to the art and architecture as you move through these celebrated spaces. The tour lasts three hours. Admission to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, as well as St. Peter’s Basilica, is not included; the provider says its office can purchase the entrance tickets.

Meet your guide in front of Caffe Vaticano, where they will hold a sign with your name. Bring a valid ID or passport, and follow the required dress code: knees and shoulders must be covered. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 8 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 22% in Rome means it ranks in the top 22% of tours in Rome by this score.
