About this tour

Discover Rome’s Vatican treasures on a three-hour guided visit, with reserved priority access to the Vatican Museums. An expert guide helps bring the vast collections to life as you move through the complex toward the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s ceiling and The Last Judgment command the room.

The experience also includes a guided visit to St. Peter’s Basilica when access is available. On eligible options, take the exclusive Scala Regia passage, and use audio headsets to follow your guide clearly along the way. The group is limited to 20 guests or fewer. St. Peter’s Basilica is not accessible on express options or Wednesday mornings, and religious ceremonies can prompt last-minute closures. Security checks may also cause delays.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 42,169 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.5.
