About this tour

See the Vatican’s celebrated art in the quieter early hours on this 4-hour Rome Vatican Tour with St. Peter’s Basilica. With a professional guide and VIP ticket entrances to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, you can focus on the masterpieces rather than the logistics.

Walk through the museums and their galleries, then take in Michelangelo’s frescoed ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. The experience also includes a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, known for its grand interiors and Michelangelo’s Pietà. An early start offers the chance to explore these landmark spaces when they are less crowded. Hotel pickup is included; hotel drop-off is not.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
