About this tour

Trade Rome’s busy streets for the green hills and historic treasures of Tivoli, just 30 kilometers away. This private day trip pairs two remarkable villas with the insight of an expert local guide.

Travel from the provider’s office near the Colosseum in a vehicle, with transport during the tour. Along the way, hear an introduction to the land and people who shaped the region before Roman rule. In Tivoli, explore Hadrian’s Villa, the retreat of the Roman emperor, then visit Villa d’Este and its breathtaking Renaissance gardens. Entry to the sites included in the tour and lunch are provided, so you can focus on the scenery and stories. Ask your guide questions as you discover a quieter side of the region.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
