About this tour

Discover the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with a guided visit designed to make the most of your time among the Vatican’s celebrated art and architecture. Skip-the-line tickets provide entry to both sites, while a licensed local guide leads the tour and shares context along the way.

The experience focuses on highlights across the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. The provider describes early or after-hours entry as an option intended to mean fewer visitors, though the exact schedule is not specified. Entrance to St. Peter’s Basilica is included when the basilica is open. Food is not included, so plan accordingly.

Arrive 15 minutes before the start time, and make sure your knees are covered. Late arrivals cannot be admitted or refunded. Religious events or decisions by authorities may also close parts of the museums or chapel, with no cancellation or price reduction. Book this Vatican City guided tour for a more informed visit to two of the city’s most renowned cultural landmarks.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.34 from 29 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.7.
