Explore the Vatican’s renowned sights and museum masterpieces on a three-hour private tour with an expert guide and skip-the-line tickets.

About this tour

Discover the Vatican’s celebrated sights on a three-hour private tour led by an expert guide. As you explore the world’s smallest country, hear the stories behind its history and the masterpieces housed in the Vatican Museums.

Your guide brings context to the collection and its renowned spaces, including the Sistine Chapel when it is accessible. Skip-the-line tickets help you make the most of your visit. Meet at the Vatican Museums entrance, beneath the large white monumental door on the stairs.

Jubilee restrictions can lead to last-minute closures, and the Sistine Chapel may not be accessible. If that happens, your guide will provide an alternative tour focused on the Vatican Museums. St. Peter’s Basilica is excluded and may also be inaccessible during this period. Book your Vatican City Sistine Chapel Tour for a guided look at the art and history within the museums.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 31% in Rome means it ranks in the top 31% of tours in Rome by this score.
