Explore Vatican City’s art and history on a private, three-hour tour with an expert guide and a pace tailored to your visit.

About this tour

Discover Vatican City on a three-hour private tour led by a professional art historian. As you explore the Vatican Museums, your guide brings the history of these celebrated sites and the stories behind their artistic treasures to life. A private format lets you set the pace and may provide access to museum rooms unavailable to larger groups. This Vatican City Sistine Chapel tour is designed for a more personal visit, with time to take in the collections alongside your guide. Please note that St. Peter's Basilica is not accessible due to Jubilee restrictions, and last-minute closures may also affect the Sistine Chapel. If access changes, your guide will offer an alternative focused on the Vatican Museums. Meet in front of Caffè Vaticano, where your guide will hold a sign with your name. Dress modestly, with knees and shoulders covered, and enjoy a closer look at the art and history of Vatican City on this private tour.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
