Skip the ticket lines and explore the Vatican Museums’ Papal Galleries before admiring the Sistine Chapel with an expert guide.

About this tour

Step into the Vatican’s remarkable world of art and history on a guided Vatican tour with Sistine Chapel access. Skip the ticket lines at the Vatican Museums and follow your guide through the Papal Galleries, where centuries of masterpieces fill the halls. Official headsets help you hear the commentary as you explore, then take in the Sistine Chapel’s celebrated frescoes. The experience lasts 150 minutes, with multiple time slots available; a morning visit may offer a quieter atmosphere. Access to St. Peter’s Basilica is not guaranteed, as the connecting passage can close unexpectedly. If it does, the tour will spend its full duration in the museums. Security checks are required, so allow at least 20 minutes and arrive on time. Dress modestly, with shoulders covered and pants or skirts reaching the knees. Discover the Vatican’s artistic treasures with a guided Vatican tour with Sistine Chapel access, and make the most of your visit.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.60 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
