About this tour

Explore the Vatican’s celebrated art and history on this Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's guided tour. Over 150 minutes, follow a guide through collections spanning centuries and discover works by Raphael, Caravaggio, and other masters. Headsets help you hear the commentary as you move through the museums.

Admire Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, then visit the Belvedere Courtyard and the Octagonal Courtyard. The experience also includes access to St. Peter’s Basilica, though the basilica itself is not guided. Priority entrance tickets are included, but all visitors must pass through airport-style security, where waits can reach 30 minutes in peak seasons. The basilica may close without notice for religious celebrations, and some museum or chapel areas may be unavailable due to special events.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.50 from 324 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.9.
