About this tour

Discover the Vatican’s artistic treasures on a guided Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour, with skip-the-line access to make more time for the galleries. Follow a licensed guide through remarkable collections and hear the stories behind their masterpieces and hidden details. Then step into the Sistine Chapel to admire Michelangelo’s celebrated frescoes. Choose the 3-hour option to add a guided visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you can see its striking architecture, Michelangelo’s Pietà, and Bernini’s Baldachin. If the basilica closes unexpectedly, the visit is replaced with Raphael’s Rooms and the tour keeps the same duration. Headsets help you follow your guide, and the meeting point is at Via Mocenigo 2. Arrive 15 minutes before your booked start time, and remember to follow the dress code and bag restrictions. Make the most of your time in Vatican City with a Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour that brings its art and history into focus.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.05 from 60 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.1.
