Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with a private expert guide, skip-the-line entry, and a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica when accessible.

About this tour

Explore the Vatican’s remarkable art and architecture on a private Vatican Museums Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry. With a dedicated expert guide, you’ll navigate the vast museum complex and discover the stories behind its celebrated collections.

Your three-hour visit includes the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, with skip-the-line entrance tickets included. St. Peter’s Basilica is also part of the tour when accessible. On Wednesday mornings, the basilica may be unavailable during the Papal Audience, and it can occasionally close without notice; in those cases, the tour spends the full three hours in the museums and Sistine Chapel. A private guide offers a more intimate way to take in the highlights and make sense of the Vatican’s rich history.

Meet at Viale Vaticano 100, upstairs at the corner by Caffè Vaticano, and arrive a few minutes early. Bring identification that matches the name used for each ticket, and dress with knees and shoulders covered. Book your Vatican Museums Guided Tour to experience these landmark collections with an expert by your side.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
