Explore the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica on a private, three-hour guided tour with skip-the-line tickets.

About this tour

Explore the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica on a private Vatican Museums tour led by a dedicated expert guide. Skip-the-line tickets help you make the most of your three hours among the Vatican’s celebrated collections and sacred spaces.

Meet your guide at Viale Vaticano 100, by Caffè Vaticano, then follow a guided route through the museums and into the Sistine Chapel. St. Peter’s Basilica is also part of the itinerary when open to visitors. On Wednesday mornings, the Papal Audience may affect access, and the basilica can occasionally close without notice; in those cases, the tour continues in the museums and Sistine Chapel. The private format offers an intimate way to explore with a guide focused on your group.

Bring a valid passport or ID that matches the full name submitted for every traveler, arrive a few minutes early, and dress with knees and shoulders covered. Book your Vatican Museums private tour for a guided visit through some of Rome’s most remarkable art and architecture.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
