Explore the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica with an expert English-speaking guide in a semi-private group.

About this tour

Explore the Vatican’s celebrated art and sacred spaces on a three-hour Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Tour in a semi-private group. With timed entry and an expert English-speaking guide, you can focus on the stories behind the collections instead of navigating the museums alone.

Walk through the Vatican Museums and discover highlights including the Pio-Clementino Museum, Raphael Rooms, Borgia Apartments, Gallery of the Tapestries, and Gallery of Maps. In the Sistine Chapel, take in Michelangelo’s renowned frescoes; visitors must remain silent inside, so your guide will explain what to look for beforehand. When access is available, a special passageway leads toward St. Peter’s Basilica for a guided visit. Basilica entry is excluded on Wednesdays and is not guaranteed for tours starting after 3:30 PM.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.66 from 910 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.9.
