Meet a practicing Salem witch for an open Q&A on modern beliefs, folklore, and daily life in Witch City.

About this tour

Curious about the person behind the pointed hat and Salem’s enduring reputation as Witch City? On this Salem witchcraft walking tour, meet a practicing witch for an open, unscripted conversation about modern beliefs, folklore, and everyday life.

Rather than follow a fixed lecture, the experience unfolds as a tailored question-and-answer session. Ask why witches wear black or ride brooms, what witchcraft means to your guide, and how spirituality fits into daily life. You’ll hear a personal perspective on a subject often clouded by myths, with room to follow the questions that interest you most. The tour lasts approximately 30 to 60 minutes and may take place indoors or outdoors depending on the weather and guest preference. How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.41 on Viator and 5.00 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Salem
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.1.
