About this tour
Discover San Francisco on a self-guided audio tour that lets you set the pace and choose where your walk begins and ends. With audio files and a GPS map on your device, you can explore the city independently, pausing whenever a view or neighborhood catches your eye.
Walk among San Francisco’s celebrated sights, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, while hearing how the California Gold Rush helped shape the city. The stories also cover the devastating 1906 earthquake, the experiences of Chinese immigrants, and the influence of the Beat Generation. This flexible format offers a way to connect the landmarks with the events and communities that shaped them, without a physical guide or set schedule.

How this score is calculated
This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.
How the score works
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
