Mix, shape, and taste sourdough in a private Scottsdale workshop, then take home dough ready to bake and tips for your kitchen.

About this tour

Get hands-on with the craft of sourdough in a welcoming Scottsdale workshop. You’ll meet the host’s 19-year-old starter, discover how it works, and learn the steps behind a loaf with character.

Begin with a welcome drink, then mix flour, water, and starter and practice stretching and folding the dough. Learn to shape your loaf and prepare it for proofing in a basket. Along the way, taste fresh-baked sourdough with a selection of dips and pick up practical advice for baking at home, including how to troubleshoot common issues. You’ll leave with your own dough, ready to bake, and the know-how to recreate the process in your kitchen.

This private Scottsdale sourdough bread workshop welcomes groups of up to 10 and lasts 120 minutes. The host can welcome you at their home or travel to your Airbnb or private residence. Book a Scottsdale sourdough bread workshop for a relaxed, tactile introduction to the pleasures of baking.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
