Cruise from Seward through Resurrection Bay in search of migrating whales, with a wildlife guide, hot lunch, and glacier views.

About this tour

Each spring, gray whales travel thousands of miles from Baja, Mexico, toward Alaska. Set out from Seward on a 4-hour wildlife cruise through Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park, where rugged mountains, seabird rookeries, and coastal scenery frame the search for migrating whales.

A wildlife guide shares insights into local marine life and ecosystems as you scan the water for gray and humpback whales, orcas, Dall’s porpoises, sea lions, and seabirds. You’ll also take in views of Bear Glacier and the surrounding mountain landscape. Wildlife sightings can vary, but the spring migration makes this a memorable season for wildlife watchers and photographers.

A hot lunch and freshly baked chocolate chip cookie are included, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available upon request at checkout. Meet at the Kenai Fjords Tours Office in Seward; hotel transportation is not included. Choose this Seward wildlife cruise with lunch for a scenic day on the water and a chance to experience Alaska’s remarkable marine life.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.80 from 2,033 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Seward
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 9.2. Top 2% in Seward means it ranks in the top 2% of tours in Seward by this score.
