Photograph Sitka’s rescued bears, mountain scenery, and historic sights while learning camera tips from a local guide.

About this tour

Explore Sitka through your camera lens on a guided photography tour that pairs striking Alaskan scenery with practical tips from a local guide. Over 2.5 hours, travel by climate-controlled motorcoach between scenic and cultural stops, with time to compose photos and take in the surroundings.

Look for rescued grizzlies and black bears in a natural habitat, and capture Mt. Edgecumbe rising behind the landscape. The route also offers views of mountain peaks, Sitka’s historic harbor, WWII-era hangars, and Native totem poles. Keep watch for bald eagles as you go. Along the way, your guide shares photography techniques and insights into Alaskan culture, helping photographers of all experience levels make the most of each stop.

Short-trail walking is required at some locations, and Sitka’s weather can change quickly, so bring comfortable shoes and rain gear. Meet your guide at Shoreside Coffee, where a red jacket and tour sign make them easy to spot. Set out on this Sitka photography tour ready to capture the wild scenery and character of the city.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Sitka
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
