Explore Skagway’s Gold Rush history, alpine valleys, waterfalls, and mountain views on a guided 3-hour White Pass mini-bus tour.

About this tour

Discover Skagway’s Gold Rush past and dramatic mountain scenery on a 3-hour White Pass tour. A knowledgeable guide shares stories as you travel by mini-bus, with bucket seats and large windows for taking in the views.

Along the way, visit the Gold Rush Cemetery and Tormented Valley, a sub-arctic alpine landscape where the terrain appears dwarfed and distorted. Pause for photos of waterfalls, glaciers, and sweeping mountain vistas. At the summit, look for the Welcome to Alaska sign, then take in Skagway and the ships in the inlet from the Skagway Overlook. Port pickup is included, making it easy to set out and enjoy the scenery.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.70 on Viator and 4.77 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Skagway
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
