Explore Arlington’s memorials with a guide, witness the Changing of the Guard, and continue with an audio tour of the Iwo Jima Memorial.

About this tour

Walk through Arlington National Cemetery with a guide who brings its memorials, traditions, and personal stories into focus. This 150-minute Arlington Cemetery walking tour is timed so you can witness the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and learn what it takes to serve as a sentinel.

Visit the Kennedy and Taft memorials, the only two presidents buried at Arlington, and explore Arlington House, including its slave quarters and museum. Along the way, hear about Medal of Honor recipients, military funerals, the symbolism on headstones, and the contributions of women in the military at the Military Women's Memorial. The guided walk also offers time to pay respects and take photos. Afterward, continue at your own pace with a self-guided audio tour of the Iwo Jima USMC Memorial just outside the cemetery.

Meet your guide in orange by the benches as you exit the Welcome Center into the cemetery after security. Book this Arlington Cemetery walking tour to experience its history and traditions with context from a licensed professional guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.85 from 138 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Washington DC
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 29% in Washington DC means it ranks in the top 29% of tours in Washington DC by this score.
