Explore Georgetown’s historic architecture, hear the story of local preservation, and have your guide capture photos along the way.

About this tour

Discover Georgetown on a two-hour walking and photo tour that brings its architectural character and preservation story into focus. From Federal and Georgian facades to Victorian details, the neighborhood offers a vivid look at how Washington’s past remains part of everyday life.

Starting in the heart of Georgetown’s shopping district, the walk includes stops at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Georgetown University, the Volta Bureau, and other local landmarks. Along the way, your guide shares insights into the neighborhood’s architectural and cultural heritage and takes photos of you as you explore. The tour was created by Preserve Tours founder Mel Serravalle, a fourth-generation Washingtonian with a background in urban planning, to make local history engaging and personal. A portion of each tour’s proceeds supports the Rosedale Conservancy, a community-funded park in Upper Northwest DC.

Join this Georgetown historic walking and photo tour to see the neighborhood through a local lens and bring home memories of its storied streets.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Washington DC
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3. Top 33% in Washington DC means it ranks in the top 33% of tours in Washington DC by this score.
