About this tour

Trade a standard stroll for a puzzle adventure across Washington DC’s National Mall. This self-guided experience turns memorial details into clues, inviting you to look closer at the granite, bronze, and carved inscriptions most visitors pass by.

Follow six objectives along an approximately 1.5-mile route between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Start at either end, then solve each challenge to unlock the next. Along the way, audio transmissions share what you’ve uncovered and point you onward. Built-in hints help if you get stuck, while photo challenges invite you to send images to an AI analyst. Spot Kilroy to earn a bonus badge. Your digital guide works from a link, with no app or login required, so you can explore at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
