Explore Oregon’s longest discovered lava tube cave on a guided Bend adventure through rugged, unlit caverns shaped by volcanic forces.

About this tour

Step beneath Bend’s pine-studded high desert and into a world shaped by ancient volcanic forces. On this 4-hour Bend lava tube cave tour, a naturalist guide leads you through Oregon’s longest discovered lava tube cave, where striking rock formations reveal the story of the region’s geology.

Meet your guide at Wanderlust Tours, then travel by vehicle to the cave. Once underground, explore a wild cavern without paved walkways or artificial lighting. Your helmet and headlamp help light the way as you move across uneven, rocky ground and step over natural rock features. Along the route, your guide explains how volcanic activity formed the caves and describes their place in the surrounding ecosystem.

The experience is rated easy to moderate, though the rugged terrain calls for steady footing and comfort on uneven surfaces. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. With a knowledgeable guide and a close-up look at Oregon’s underground landscape, this Bend lava tube cave tour offers a memorable change of scenery. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. GetYourGuide rates it 4.86 from 7 reviews. We place that rating among all GetYourGuide ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Bend
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 28% in Bend means it ranks in the top 28% of tours in Bend by this score.
