Explore Big Island Farms, a 64-acre property on Hawaii’s Hamakua Coast, where gardens and orchards meet sweeping Pacific Ocean views from Waipio to Hilo. This 60-minute farm tour offers a close look at the plants and landscapes that shape the farm.

Walk through a diverse collection of permaculture food forests, themed gardens, coconut orchards, and living spaces for educational programs. More than 200 species of edible and medicinal plants grow here, including coffee, banana, papaya, taro, ginger, turmeric, cacao, avocado, breadfruit, and coconut. The historic Hamakua canal divides the property and carries water from the Kohala forest preserve to irrigate its lower section. You’ll also find organically grown macadamia and kukui nuts on the upper slopes, and sample farm edibles during your visit.
