About this tour

Take the wheel and explore the Big Island on a 24-hour Slingshot adventure. This self-guided drive pairs the open-road feel of a Polaris Slingshot with the freedom to set your own pace.

Pick up your vehicle at Kings Shops in Waikoloa, then follow the pre-loaded navigation tour toward the island’s volcanic landscapes and points of interest. The listed stop times are averages, so you can linger where the scenery calls for it and shape the day around your interests. Helmets are provided for all riders, and the Slingshot comes with lockable storage and a waterproof design, according to the provider.

The route description features the dramatic geological, biological, and cultural landscapes of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, but park admission is not included. Drivers must be at least 21 and hold a valid license; passengers must be able to sit securely. A refundable security deposit of $750 or $1,500 is required at pickup. This tour scores 1.00 on GetYourGuide (Viator shows no usable rating). Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Big Island of Hawaii
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
