Follow changing skies with a local guide on a Fairbanks Northern Lights Tour, with warm lodge stops, hot drinks, and photo assistance.
About this tour
Chase the Northern Lights across Alaska with a local guide who follows aurora forecasts, weather patterns, and cloud cover throughout the night. This Fairbanks Northern Lights Tour adapts to changing conditions, seeking clearer skies when possible rather than relying on a fixed viewing spot.
Begin at a welcoming lodge, where you can settle indoors, use the restrooms, and enjoy hot drinks before heading out. When conditions allow, the guide may visit additional viewing locations. Along the way, get photo assistance and hear local stories that bring Alaska to life beyond the aurora. Smaller groups create a more personal atmosphere, and the guide will be honest when the forecast offers limited chances of a sighting.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so sightings cannot be guaranteed. For a comfortable, flexible night under Alaska’s skies, book your Fairbanks Northern Lights Tour and follow the conditions wherever they lead.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Fairbanks
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 36% in Fairbanks means it ranks in the top 36% of tours in Fairbanks by this score.
