Fairbanks Northern Lights Tour

Set out from Fairbanks for an evening in pursuit of the northern lights, with an experienced local guide and a flexible plan shaped by current conditions. Because aurora sightings are never guaranteed, the focus is on making the journey comfortable, informative, and well considered as you search for a clear view of the sky.

Your guide reviews up-to-the-minute weather and solar data to decide where conditions look most promising. Rather than relying on one fixed destination or spending the whole night driving, the tour can combine time at a local lodge with visits to prime viewing spots in and around Fairbanks. A heated van and/or lodge offers a warm place to pause, while bottled water and hot cocoa, coffee, or tea help keep the evening cozy. Along the way, hear Alaskan history and local perspectives from your guide.

This 300-minute Fairbanks Northern Lights Tour offers a relaxed way to explore the area after dark, with wheelchair-accessible transportation and infant seats available. Bring your camera gear, since it is not included, and join the search for a memorable aurora display.
