About this tour

Watch dawn break above the clouds on a Haleakala Sunrise Tour, as the first light spills across Maui from the summit of Haleakala National Park. Local guides help you find a memorable viewing spot, share tips for watching the sunrise, and bring the island’s history to life.

After sunrise, continue with a short tour through the rest of Haleakala National Park and nearby ranchlands before returning to Kahului Harbor. An air-conditioned vehicle and bottled water are provided for the eight-hour excursion. Wheelchair-accessible transportation and surfaces are available, and an oxygen generator is onboard for guests concerned about the effects of elevation.

Choose this Maui Haleakala Sunrise Tour for a striking start to the day, then take in more of the island’s high-country scenery with a local guide.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.84 from 38 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3.
