Explore Maui’s rainforest, waterfalls, and coastal landmarks on a 6-hour open-air Road to Hana tour with scenic stops along the way.
About this tour
Trade the long, tiring drive for an open-air journey through Maui’s rainforest on this 6-hour Maui Open-Air Road to Hana Tour. Ride in a safari van with a guide and enjoy frequent stops for waterfalls, coastal scenery, and memorable island sights.
The route features the Rainbow Eucalyptus at Ke‘anae Arboretum, the lava coastline of Ke‘anae Peninsula, Wailua Valley Lookout, and Pua‘a Kaa Falls. Pause for fresh banana bread and roadside treats along the way. Rain can pass through the rainforest, helping keep the landscape green and the waterfalls flowing; ponchos are provided if the weather changes. The open-air ride offers wide views, while the shorter format lets you experience highlights without spending the entire day on the road.
Choose a pickup or meeting point in Kaanapali, Lahaina, or Kahului, and bring comfortable shoes for short walks. Lunch is not included, so you can purchase food at roadside stops or bring your own. Book the Maui Open-Air Road to Hana Tour for a refreshing way to see the island’s lush landscapes and coastal landmarks.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
