About this tour

Follow Maui’s winding Hana Highway into a world of emerald rainforest, cascading waterfalls, and narrow one-lane bridges. On this Road to Hana experience, you can settle into an air-conditioned vehicle while a local driver handles the curves and shares stories of Hawaiian history, legends, and culture.

Travel through the heart of Maui, with opportunities to swim and hike along the way. The journey includes admission to the Hana Highway and Puaʻa Kaʻa State Park, plus a picnic-style lunch at Waiʻanapanapa State Park, known as Black Sand Beach. Choose a ham, turkey, roast beef, or veggie deli-style sandwich with all the fixings; bookings without a lunch order receive a turkey sandwich. Bottled water and Hawaiian chips are also provided, and pickup and drop-off are available from Maui hotels and resorts.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.72 on Viator and 4.41 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.1.
