Explore Maui’s winding Road to Hana with an expert guide, a black sand beach stop, waterfall swim opportunity, breakfast, and lunch.
About this tour
Follow Maui’s legendary coastal road through lush valleys, dramatic shorelines, and small Hana communities on a guided Road to Hana tour. With more than 20 years of experience, NAI-certified guides share the journey while custom-built passenger vans handle the winding route and keep the ride comfortable.
Start with a continental breakfast at Maui Tropical Plantation, then travel toward Waianapanapa State Park for a long stop at its famous black sand beach. Continue to Pua'a Ka'a, where you may swim beneath a waterfall when weather and safety allow. The route also includes a picnic-style buffet lunch at a classic Hana flower farm, with Huli Huli Chicken or a vegan Thai Coconut Veggie Tofu Curry. Bottled water and an air-conditioned vehicle are provided.
Stops can change with weather, timing, guide decisions, and parking availability. Let an experienced guide take care of the drive so you can focus on the scenery and enjoy the Road to Hana at a relaxed pace.

How this score is calculated
This tour scores 4.82 on Viator and 4.74 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.
How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.3.
