Experience Hawaiian stories, a buffet dinner, and a thrilling fire-knife finale at this oceanfront luau beside Kaanapali Beach.

About this tour

As the sun sets beside Kaanapali Beach, the Wailele Luau brings Hawaiian stories to life with music, dance, dinner, and a fiery finale. This 180-minute outdoor experience takes place in an oceanfront setting at the resort.

Watch performers share tales of the demigod Maui through kahiko, the traditional style of Hawaiian dance, and awana, a more contemporary form. The show builds toward an energetic fire-knife performance, billed as one of Maui’s most extreme. Between the dancing and storytelling, enjoy a buffet dinner featuring bread service, pupus, eight entrees, and a dessert station. Tropical drinks, beer, and wine are also included.

The Wailele Luau offers a lively way to experience Hawaiian performance and cuisine in one evening. Make your plans for a memorable night on Maui.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.24 from 263 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Maui
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.0.
