Explore Broadway’s Prohibition-era pubs, hear stories of gangsters and stars, and sip craft cocktails on a 150-minute New York crawl.

About this tour

Step into the hidden drinking history of Midtown on a New York Prohibition Pub Crawl through the Broadway Theater District. Over 150 minutes and about one mile of walking, your guide leads you to pubs that once served as speakeasies during the 1920s.

Along the way, hear where major speakeasies stood and learn about the gangsters, scofflaws, and Broadway stars who shaped the neighborhood’s nightlife. Pause to sip craft cocktails made by top bartenders, then visit a real speakeasy and hear about the remarkable events unfolding inside. The tour meets in front of the 21 Club, near its famous gate, and operates in all weather, so dress for the conditions.

Follow the stories behind Broadway’s old drinking scene and discover a side of New York that still lingers behind the neighborhood’s doors. Book your New York Prohibition Pub Crawl and raise a glass to the city’s past.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in New York City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
