Tucson Apache Dawn Audio Tour 1 hr

Trace the stories of Arizona’s frontier on the Tucson Apache Dawn Audio Tour, a self-guided drive through desert landscapes, historic mining towns, and places tied to Apache and Old West history. Specially created narration and audio reenactments bring the route’s characters and events to life as you travel at your own pace.

Start near Tucson’s Kolb Freeway entrance to eastbound I-10 and head toward Willcox. Along the way, visit the Amerind Foundation, the Dragoon Mountains, and Cochise Stronghold. The route continues toward Fort Bowie, Apache Pass, and Chiricahua National Monument, then turns south to the ghost towns of Courtland and Gleeson. In Bisbee, explore the town’s copper-mining heritage and Brewery Gulch. Continue to Tombstone for stories of the Clantons, the Earps, and the famous gunfight at the OK Saloon, before the broader route leads through Sierra Vista, Sonoita, Patagonia, Nogales, Tumacacori, and Tubac on the return toward Tucson.

Admission to all sites, directions, narration, and live reenactments are included. Bring your own vehicle, water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes, then set out to discover the landscapes and legends of southern Arizona.
